曲靖市民族中学是曲靖市人民政府主办，曲靖市教育局主管，曲靖市民委辅管的一所云南省一级二等完全中学。
曲靖市民族中学是一所教学设施完备、教育特色鲜明的学校，现有校园面积33350平方米，教学班级58个，在校学生3886人，少数民族学生占总人数的27%；教职工228人，其中硕士研究生11人，特级教师4人，高级教师87人；校长刘红被评为云南省中学名校长，省市级学科带头人、骨干教师、政府津贴获得者共30余人，省市级课赛获奖者50余人。高水平的师资队伍，科学的教育、教学管理，为全面提高学生素质创造了良好的条件。
斗转星移，风雨兼程。30余载的辛勤耕耘，曲靖市民族中学迎来了桃李芬芳、春色满园的局面。校友们或施才于政界，或弄潮于商海，或献身于科研，或活跃于文坛，或执教于庠序，或投身于军营，或求学于外域。近年来，学校教育质量稳步提高：连续五年表彰为曲靖市“高中教育先进学校”，2013年高考600分以上22人，一本率51%，居云南省一级完全中学综合排名第21名，荣获云南省教育厅“一级高完中教学质量评价二等奖”；2014年高考600分以上64人，理科最高682分，被北京大学录取，一本率57%，居全省一级高完中高考综合排名第15名，全省民族中学系统第一名；2015年高考参考684人，600分以上31人，重点率55%，本科率94%。
学校坚持多元发展战略，先后被评为“民族团结教育示范学校”、云南省“文明学校”、“云南省勤工俭学生产实践示范基地”、“全国体育传统项目学校”、“校本培训示范学校”、全国中小学优秀网站、云南省“平安校园”、被定为全国校园足球培训学校、云南省十大法制校园。2015年6月学校被评为“全国禁毒工作先进集体”。2015年6月25日，校长刘红参加表彰大会，与其他受表彰的领导一起受到了党和国家领导人的接见。
2016年9月学校将搬迁至龙华大道旁的新校区，新校区以“一流规划设计、一流校园环境、一流硬件设施、一流教学质量”为宗旨，一座园林式、生态型、数字化的高标准中学校园将在曲靖这块沃土上熠熠生辉，成为曲靖城市建设的亮点和教育发展的名片 。

Qujing Nationality Middle School (formerly middle school of Normal college of Qujing) was founded in Sep. 1985 and renamed in Sep 1997. It is one of 100 key Schools in Yunnan province, administered directly by the Department of Education and indirectly by the Committee for Ethnic and Religious Affairs in Qujing. It is one of model schools of moral education in China and one of excellent schools in Yunnan province. There are 228 teaching staff in total in the school, including 4 special -grade teachers, 87 senior teachers and 110 first-grade teachers. Among them, 21 teachers are postgraduates,16 national excellent teachers, 11 provincial excellent teachers and 9 municipal leaders in teaching. There are 48 classes and more than 3886 students in the school.
For many years,the idea of running a school is to satisfy the people, the idea of training the students is to train the students who used to be slow into better students and the aim of running a school is to get high
percentage of pass, high percentage of entering the university, all-round development for students and to promote the schooling feature. A marked advance is made in the quality of teaching every year.In the last
three years,95% of the students have entered the different universities, Qujing Nationality Middle School is in the front ranks of all the high schools of Quing city.The school was awarded the Advanced Collective
of Senior Teaching of Qujing City in 2005,2006,and 2007 in a row.
